A great competition, with Armadale unfortunately loosing out on the day. We were joint last for the Print section but did finish 3rd in the Digital Image section, however overall ending up 6th place out of 9. Well done to Musselburgh the overall winner of the day – for the second year. Image Scores will be posted here soon. The format of the GDPU Image league is a group draw whereby 3 /4 clubs will compete head to head 1 round each. The winning club of the group going through to the final competing against the other group winners.
24/09/2009 – Unfortunately Hamilton have withdrawn from the competition. 10/12/2009 - Unfortunately we lost the battle 329 points to 305 points but there were some good scores for some of our images. Stan Miller was the judge and his critique was very good. Motherwell scored very consistently with their lowest score being 14 but 11 images scored 17 points and over compared to us having 4 images scoring 17 and over. 10/02/2010 – An interesting competition the scores never being far apart through the competition – Both team scoring consistently - Falkirk having 8 images scoring 17 and over whereby Armadale only had 7 images scoring 17 and over. The judge for the evening was Lorna MacDonald. The web site now has a feed into Flickr – any member who wishes to integrate their Flickr account – please let me know your Flickr account and I’ll integrate. I have integrated a few accounts to start with – hopefully we can remove our own internal gallery and just pick up images from Flickr. By doing so, we hope to reduce the overhead of members having to upload to multiple galleries. Let me know what you think…. The latests version of the GDPU Newsletter can be opened from the link below. Please remember that the GDPU are always looking for new articles and information to include in future newsletters. The holidays are nearly upon us -: I usually go walking over the holidays at some point. I am planning on going to Glen coe – to walk into the lost valley – this is what i would class as a nice easy and safe walk it would take approx 4.5hrs in and out,a slight hill to start with then you are graced with fantastic scenery ,and hopefully all the snow will still be there . i have done this walk many times. last year i walked in ,the temp was -9 waterfall 100ft frozen solid, plenty photographic opportunities on route . Now the safety bit good strong boots required , layers of clothing not masses reasonable fitness required ( Jordan can manage this with no problems ) and it will be a nice easy stroll with plenty stops gloves hat and scarf to stop the wind chill and a small towel ! for the cameras to keep them warm as it does get cold up there anyway :_If anybody is interested post below and we can fix a date i am quite flexible any time between 27th Dec – 4th Jan 2010 new years day could be good (Clear the Head) So come on try something different and be adventurous Kevin
